11/08 – Meeting with Dr. Bazzi

• Ken from Samlex said PST-600 can only handle blower motor startup current if it’s shorter than one second, recommended oversizing the inverter significantly for motor startup
• Dr. Bazzi said startup conditions would definitely be longer than 1 second, so we would either need a larger inverter or a motor soft starter
• Calculating battery fault current – V/R from battery to chassis under short conditions
• Overload fuse 10x rated for a period of 100-200 ms
• Relay rated for AC switching so it would have to break connection on AC side.
• Instead of AC relay, could use a power MOSFET for switching on DC side
