About The Team

Paul Roach

Computer Engineering

Paul is a student at the University of Connecticut studying Computer Engineering. He worked as a software and product development intern at DLL Solutions Inc. the past two summers, developing systems to record and manage industrial machinery sensory measurements. He is currently the president of the UConn 3D Printing Club, and is a member of the UConn Marching Band and the secretary of the band service fraternity. Paul is currently working on one of his largest personal projects; an agile, autonomous robotic dog using machine learning and various sensors to let it navigate the world.

Liz Chamiec-Case

Engineering Physics

Liz is pursuing an Engineering Physics degree with a concentration in Electrical Engineering and minors in math and neuroscience. This summer, she completed a fellowship at the Undergraduate Program for Neural Computation at Carnegie Mellon University, and she performs image quantification and data analysis research in Professor Jackson’s lab. She is a tutor at the UConn Q Center and president of the UConn iGEM club. She also enjoys running, cooking, and cats.

Electrical Engineering and Mathematics

Aaron is currently studying mathematics and electrical engineering at the University of Connecticut. Currently, he works at the UConn Eversource Energy Center building and tuning machine learning models used to predict outages. In 2020 Aaron received an official citation from the State of Connecticut General Assembly for leading a NASA HUNCH team in the design and manufacturing of a prototype device for the International Space Station. The device has been approved for launch to the ISS and is scheduled to “fly” in 2020. He also placed first in the 2018 HACKUConn hackathon for the design of a shin-splint recovery device. Aaron has also spent considerable amounts of time tutoring, mentoring, and teaching other students as a teaching assistant, a sports camp counselor, and an elementary school tutor. When he has free time Aaron enjoys trail running, baking, and editing pre-COVID-19 travel photos.
