This is Team 2106
The objective of this project is to improve the efficiency of security checkpoints for airports and other applications. The proposed solution is to implement a screening process that involves people walking through a corridor to be imaged by a depth camera and radar rather than stopping to be scanned. In this project, a simulation-based approach using open source software such as Blender, MakeHuman, and Carnegie Mellon Motion capture files are used to simulate the optical data of a person walking under average conditions. This data is then transformed to radar waveforms through the implementation of a forward operator written in Python. This data set is then used to develop the necessary image processing code for the hardware implementation, and be used to develop a high-quality data set that can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the new checkpoint.
